Der Vortrag stellt am Beispiel der Carmina Anacreontea und einzelner Werke der Zweiten Sophistik literarische Inszenierungen extensiver Mimesis vor, bei denen das Verhältnis von Original und Kopie  vertauscht und eine Strategie der Enthierarchisierung erkennbar wird, die Prozesse ungesteuerter Nachahmung zugleich in Gang setzt und zu ‚zähmen‘ versucht.

Mimesis out of Control – Popularisation Strategies of Imitation as an Ecstatic Experience in Ancient Poetry and Society

This paper presents literary stagings of extensive mimesis in the example of Carmina Anacreontea and individual works of the Second Sophistry. In these literary stagings, the relationship between original and copy is inverted and there is an identifiable strategy of dehierarchisation which attempts, simultaneously, both to set in motion and to ‘tame’ processes of uncontrolled imitation.
